It used to be that the only alternative to the "Traditional Listing Realtor®"method was to sell your property by yourself as a For Sale By Owner.
The thinking, of course is that if you could sell your property without a Realtor® involved, you would stand to save a tremendous amount of money. The money you would normally pay to the Realtors® in commissions.
However, selling your home By Owner requires a major commitment of time and effort on your part as well as making you to assume all the liabilities. Studies show that the For Sale By Owner generally attempts to sell for an extended period of time, with little or no success.
In fact, a recent study by the Department of Real Estate shows that 87% of the For Sale By Owners are not successful and end up turning to a "Traditional Realtor®" and paying their huge commissions.
